As an essential business, Pediatric Therapy Center has remained open during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our therapists and office staff have worked hard to provide a safe environment for our patients so your kids can continue to get the important treatments and services they need.

While taking necessary precautions to stay healthy, it is understandable that you might have concerns about the safety of our environment. Rest assured; your kids are safe at PTC.

Below are a few additional procedures we have implemented to keep you and your kids healthy while they are being treated in our office.

Virtual Waiting Room – decreases exposure to COVID-19

Upon arriving at Pediatric Therapy Center, parents can check-in by texting PTC at 346-202-2184. This is followed by a text to the therapist notifying where they can meet you curbside. This eliminates the need to come into the clinic and decreases the amount of contact between your family and the therapists, while providing an additional layer of protection by using social distancing techniques recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

In addition, by using a virtual waiting room, Pediatric Therapy Center can provide hands-on therapy without compromising the safety of families by requiring you to sit in close quarters with other parents and children.

If parents want to accompany their child into the office and wait while they receive therapy, you are welcome. However, PTC asks that only one parent come in with their child and stay in the treatment area observing, rather than sitting in the waiting area.

I am so appreciative for the staff at PTC who have continued to work with my boys during COVID-19. I have never felt that my boys’ health was compromised as the center was very quick to adjust their sign-in procedures, increase cleaning in between visits, and change how we pick up the boys.  Being able to come to the gym and not have to do visits for therapies virtually has helped our kids regulate better during this time,” Paula Fogelman, a PTC parent, explains.

Hand Washing – the biggest defense against COVID-19

At Pediatric Therapy Center, we know that washing hands is the best way we can help prevent the spread of Coronavirus and other bacteria, viruses, and germs. Because we provide services to medically fragile children, therapists have always practiced good sanitization procedures.

In addition to our strict hand washing protocol, therapists also wash each child’s hands at the beginning and end of each session. If you accompany your child into the clinic, please wash your hands with the soap and water available.

How PTC keeps our office clean and safe from COVID-19

Pediatric Therapy Center has and will always continue to:
• Disinfect all clinic surfaces after each patient contact with an EPA approved disinfectant
• Disinfect any toys that come in contact with our patients’ mouths or hands
• Appropriately dispose of any tissues used during treatment sessions
• Ask all patients and therapists who have experienced a temperature to remain home until they have been fever free for 24 hours

We have also increased our disinfection routines including:

  • Sanitizing all high-touch point areas including: light switches, doorknobs, faucets, chair handles, equipment, tables, etc.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting all bathrooms including: surfaces, toilet seats, door handles, faucets, dispensers, etc.

Our increased sanitization procedures have helped ease the minds of parents who have continued to bring their kids in for therapy sessions. One of our parents has emphasized the superiority of being able to access hands on therapy safely, as compared to tele-therapy sessions her child received elsewhere:

“We have been so thankful that PTC has been open to see patients in person. They have always been clean and safe, but they have implemented some new procedures for pick up and drop off that have gone the extra mile. We have continued in person physical therapy and have done occupational therapy through the computer, and they just don’t compare! Thank you PTC for continuing to provide necessary therapy for our kids!” says Kelly Hermon PTC.

Pediatric Therapy Center is proud to continue providing the essential treatments and services your child needs, and we will continue to do our best to keep your child healthy and safe while they are in office. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time.
